We are a Zoho affiliate and implementation partner, so read this with that in mind. It is also why we have written down the cases where HubSpot is the better buy — a comparison that never concedes anything is an advertisement, and you would be right to ignore it.
Most comparisons put these two side by side on price and declare a winner. That is the wrong shape for the question, because they are not competing for the same job.
HubSpot is a front-office platform. Marketing, sales, and service, built around a shared contact record, executed better than almost anyone. It is deliberately deep rather than broad, and the polish is real.
Zoho One is a whole-business operating system. The same front-office ground plus accounting, payroll, HR, inventory, projects, e-signature, BI, and a low-code platform — 45+ applications on one licence. Broader by a wide margin, and less polished in most individual apps.
So the real question is not which is better. It is whether you are buying a best-in-class front office or a system that runs the entire company — and what you are willing to trade for either.
List prices as published on zoho.com and hubspot.com and verified on September 2, 2026. Both vendors discount, so treat these as the starting point of a negotiation rather than the end.

HubSpot currently advertises promotional Starter pricing from US$7/mo/seat for new customers on a limited-time basis; the US$20 figure is the standing list price. The line that matters most in this table is the last but one. Zoho One is priced per employee, so a database growing from 10,000 to 200,000 contacts does not change your bill. HubSpot's marketing tiers are priced on marketing contacts, which means the pricing escalates on exactly the axis a successful marketing programme grows fastest. Model your third year, not your first.
Sixteen line items, scored honestly. Six of them go to HubSpot, and those six are not consolation prizes.

We sell Zoho implementations. These are still true, and if one of them is decisive for you then HubSpot is the right purchase.
This is the one that decides most outcomes and gets the least attention in comparisons. HubSpot's interface is consistently excellent, the onboarding is structured, and sales teams tend to adopt it without being forced. A well-adopted HubSpot beats a half-configured Zoho One every single time, and it is not close. Software nobody opens has a real cost of zero benefit and full price.
Marketing Hub is a better marketing platform than Zoho Marketing Automation — better journey building, better reporting, a better editor, and a genuinely strong content and SEO layer that Zoho has no real answer to. If marketing sophistication is your primary constraint, HubSpot earns its price.
A deeper partner network, a larger pool of people who already know the product, better documentation, and an integration marketplace where the important connectors are maintained properly. Hiring someone who already knows HubSpot is materially easier than hiring for Zoho, and that is a real operating cost.
HubSpot's hubs feel like one product because they were built as one. Zoho's applications were built by different teams over two decades, and it shows — conventions and interface quality vary between apps. Zoho One is broader; HubSpot is more coherent. Breadth costs you polish.
Mostly a question of scope and arithmetic rather than any single feature.
HubSpot has no accounting, no payroll, no HRIS, and no real inventory. Those are not gaps in their product — they are deliberately out of scope. But you still have to buy them somewhere, and every one of them is another vendor, another integration, and another place your customer record is duplicated. In Zoho One they are already on the same platform as the CRM.
Zoho One costs the same whether your database holds 5,000 contacts or 500,000. HubSpot's marketing pricing scales with marketing contacts, so the better your marketing performs, the more your software costs. Over a three-year horizon that difference frequently dwarfs the headline per-seat comparison.
A 40-person company running HubSpot Marketing Pro, Sales Pro seats, QuickBooks, Gusto, BambooHR, DocuSign, and Asana is comfortably past $4,000 a month before onboarding fees. The equivalent Zoho One licence is $1,480. You are trading polish for roughly a third of the bill, and for many businesses that is an easy trade to make.
Every business has one process no vendor sells software for. In HubSpot that becomes custom objects, a third-party tool, or a developer. In Zoho One, Creator lets you build the application — and it inherits the same users, permissions, and data as everything else. The custom piece stops being another island.
Not a verdict. A set of conditions — find the one that describes you.
And a third answer nobody sells you: run both. Some companies keep HubSpot for marketing because the team is productive in it, and put Zoho One underneath for finance, HR, projects, and support, connected through Zoho Flow. It costs more than consolidating, and it is sometimes the right call anyway.
The honest version, including the parts that are genuinely painful.
Contacts, companies, deals
The easy part. Records and activity history export cleanly and import through Zoho's native tooling. The real work is remapping HubSpot's flat property model onto Zoho's module structure — a design decision that deserves thought rather than a like-for-like field copy.
Workflows and automation
These do not port. Every workflow has to be rebuilt in Zoho's automation layer, which is usually an improvement, because most long-lived HubSpot portals carry years of workflows nobody has audited. Budget the bulk of the project here.
Marketing email history
Does not carry over into Campaigns. Decide early whether you need it archived for compliance and export it before you cancel. This is the item teams most often discover too late.
Content and landing pages
If you run your website on Content Hub, this is the hardest piece and the one most likely to argue against moving at all. Pages have to be rebuilt, and URLs and redirects handled carefully to avoid throwing away the organic performance you already have.
The questions we get asked when someone is deciding between the two.
You shouldn't take it on faith, and we would rather you didn't. We earn a commission if you start a Zoho subscription through this site, which is disclosed at the bottom of every page in this section.
What we can do is make the page checkable. Every price here is list price from the vendors' own pricing pages on September 2, 2026 — go and verify them. Six of the sixteen feature rows are scored for HubSpot, including adoption and marketing depth, which are the two that decide most purchases. If that reads as insufficiently enthusiastic about the product we sell, that is deliberate.
It depends entirely on scope, and the honest answer is that a narrow comparison is much closer than a broad one.
If you only need a CRM and light email, HubSpot Starter at $20/seat is competitive with Zoho One at $37/employee — and if most of your headcount will never log in, Starter may well be cheaper. The gap opens when you count the whole stack: marketing automation, help desk, accounting, payroll, HR, e-signature, and BI are all inside the Zoho licence and all separate purchases alongside HubSpot. Price your actual list of tools, not the headline.
It is genuinely good and genuinely free, and it is the strongest argument for starting on HubSpot. For a two-person company that needs a contact database and some email, it is hard to beat at zero.
The consideration is what happens at the boundary. The step from free to paid tiers is steep, and it usually arrives at the moment you can least afford disruption. Worth knowing where that step lands before you build your processes on the free tier.
Yes, and a fair number of companies do exactly that. Zoho Flow connects HubSpot to Books, Desk, People, and the rest, so finance and support can work off the same records without moving your marketing team.
Be clear about the trade-off: you keep paying for HubSpot, and you keep a sync boundary where data can drift. It is a reasonable architecture when the marketing team is genuinely productive in HubSpot, and an expensive habit when they are not.
For a company moving CRM plus marketing, typically eight to twelve weeks including parallel running. Add accounting and payroll and it stretches, because those should cut over at period boundaries regardless of when everything else is ready.
The variable that actually drives the timeline is not the data. It is how many undocumented workflows exist and how many people need to agree on what replaces them.
Then keep it. Ripping out a platform your team uses well, to save money on software, is usually a bad trade — the disruption costs more than the licence difference for at least a year.
The moment to reconsider is when your contact-based pricing starts escalating faster than your revenue, or when the number of systems bolted around HubSpot to cover the back office becomes the actual problem. That is a different situation, and it is worth a conversation.
Send us the list of tools you are paying for and roughly what you spend. We will tell you which of these two fits — including when the answer is that you should stay exactly where you are.
